Get a 2.5 tonne with a min 490mm lift, low profile jacks help with the Mini, especially if its lowered.

This is the one I use (the swivel handle adapter is a real boon):

definately need low profile to get under the jack points even if not lowered.

A low profile is preferable the sgs one is rather humpy.

That draper one looks like an excellent piece of kit. I was looking at the Costco one but not sure if it's lower. I may just reorder that kit from SGS

rdb85, nice looking jack setup and those stands are a bonus, don't forget a short block of wood so you don't damage the sills when your jacking it up.

Get a jacking pad that fits into the mini jacking points.

I've got a block of wood there. Nice railway sleeper. I've seen those pads but I don't know if they are any good. Is the wood better because it distributes the weight evenly?

 

Yep, get a strip of wood to spread the load!

Yep they all look good Rob and exactly what I whack in the R50 ::wink::

Tomorrow's job for me is to fit new front brake pads on Hamish (my R55 Cooper D), strip, clean and reassemble the rear brakes and a brake fluid change followed by a polish and a coat of wax ::smile::

 

Sounds good Sean, my brakes have started squeezing, but I'm more concerned about the play in my steering. Will be able to see what's what when my jack arrives.

 

The beast arrived today. Needs a small crane to move it lol. Hopefully get to try it out soon ?
